- Head height from chin to crown
- Eye line height and horizontal centring
Left to your judgement
- Neutral expression, both eyes open
- No glasses
- Even lighting, no shadows
- No hats or head coverings

We flag these rather than pretend to judge them. Anyone claiming to guarantee acceptance is claiming something no software can deliver.
Questions
- Is the check really free?
- Yes. You can upload a photo, see every measurement, and adjust the framing as many times as you like without paying. You only pay $12 if you want the file itself, without the watermark, plus the specification report.
- Do you guarantee my visa photo will be accepted?
- No, and be wary of anyone who does. We verify the things that can be measured in a file: dimensions, file size, colour space, background, head height, and eye position. A consular officer can still reject a photo over appearance, likeness, or policy. What we give you is a report showing exactly what was verified and against which published requirement.
- Why do so many DS-160 photos get rejected?
- The two most common causes are head size and file size. The head must fill 50–69% of the frame from chin to crown, which is larger than most people crop, and the upload rejects anything over 240 kB. Both are measured here before you pay.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Upload, check, pay, download. You get a private link that keeps your files available for 30 days.
- What about the printed photo for my interview?
- The $17 option adds a 4×6 inch sheet at 300 DPI holding six 2×2 photos with cut guides, which any photo counter or home printer can produce.
